When it comes to making smart moves for your career and finances, the Isle of Man’s National Insurance Holiday Scheme is a golden ticket you don’t want to overlook.
It’s available to both recent graduates and new residents and can put as much as £4,400 of National Insurance contributions back in your pocket.
What is National Insurance (NI) Anyway?
National Insurance (NI) is a contribution system supporting the State Pension, Social Security Benefits, and the healthcare services. Employees, self-employed individuals, and employers pay into the system, with contributions either deducted from wages or paid directly. These payments go into the National Insurance Fund (NIF) to finance benefits and healthcare. Contributions begin at age 16, stop at State Pension age, and determine eligibility for state benefits by building your NI record.
